Finished Animtion

After getting all the research from the internet and looking through all the different types of animation that existed I settled on doing my animation based on words.

I found the song Will.i.am ft Britney Scream and Shout and cut out the words to the song. The first thing I did was edit the song to only 30 seconds using Adobe Audition. This was the first time I used this software and I found it extremely easy to use and will use it again in the future.

I then used Windows Movie Maker to edit the images together in time with music.

Comments

This was the first comment I received about animation.

"I think that your animation is really creative. I like how you have used different styles and fonts for each letter. I think that your editing is really tight and the words match the song really well. The only improvements that I could suggest is to maybe use a less plain background, and if the quality of the video was a bit better.
Well done! :)"

This comment was really good however I did actually think about the background but I thought that it would clash with the colourful words so I wouldn't change anything if I had to.

"this is a really good animation apart from the language its not very suitable"

Thinking about this comment I probably shouldn't have used a song with bad language however I could have blanked it out instead.

"I think this animation is well made sian! well done, I like the way the font for each letter changed and it was very well synced with the music. The only other suggestion I would give would be maybe to use different backgrounds? great work"

It seems that a few people have suggested the background however I stick to my opinion on the backgrounds clashing with the lyrics.

"This is a good animation, It is very well synced with the audio I think one thing I would change would be a bit more creativity and maybe add more colour. overall well done this is good."

After this comment i thought about how i could have added images to go with lyrics so if i was going to do animation again i would add them things.

Exposure sheets

For todays task we worked with exposure sheets. An exposure sheet helps you when you have to piece together a video with a piece of sound. On the sheet you can sort out the sound clip and put the time on each word. It helps you cause you are able to make sure the video fits in with the sound tracks.

own animation

For my own animation I wanted to do a music video.  The song I am going to remake in an animation is Gangnam Style.

I am going to do my animation based on cut out animations. The first thing i need to do is decide what 30 seconds of the video that i am going to use for my animation.

After thinking about it I changed my mind about doing Gingham style. I am know going to be doing Will.I.Am ft Brittany Spears Scream and Shout.

I didn't know what part of the song I wanted to remake for my cut out animation so i looked up the lyrics.

Bring the action…
When you hear this in the club
You gotta turn the sh-t up
You gotta turn the sh-t up
You gotta turn the sh-t up
When we up in the club
All eyes on us
All eyes on us
All eyes on us
See the boys in the club
They watching us
They watching us
They watching us
Everybody in the club
All eyes on us
All eyes on us
All eyes on us
I wanna scream and shout, and let it all out
And scream and shout, and let it out
We saying, oh wee oh wee oh wee oh wee oh
We saying, oh wee oh wee oh wee oh wee oh
I wanna scream and shout, and let it all out
And scream and shout, and let it out
We saying, oh wee oh wee oh wee oh wee oh
You are now rocking with Will.i.am and Britney, b-tch
After looking through the lyrics I like the first verse and the chorus. I will be using these two parts to use in my animation.
I then copied and pasted the lyrics into Photoshop. Im going to change each lyric line into a different font with different colours to add better effects.

I have found a website that you can type your own words into and then are produced letter cut outs.

For this lesson I managed to get all the lyrics I am using in my video and pasted them all onto word. This was a really long process  I was then going to print them out however the classroom printer wasn't working.

The next part in making my animation is to print out the words on a piece of paper and then cut out and order the words properly.

Pioneers of Animation

George was a french man who was the first person to use the fade-in and fade-out techniques. However he was one of the pioneers of stop motion. He was also pioneer of hand painted frames in film, multiple exposure and time lapse. During his active years as a filmmaker he produced an amazing number of 531 films. He would cut one image unto another and trick the mind into seeing something they didn't think was possible.

Here is one of him animations. Another one of his tricks was the he would suddelny stop filming and then move something in front of the camera. This gave you the illusion that that something had moved on its own.

Norman McLaren is know to be the most awarded filmmakers know in Canada. One of the first known of Norman that because he didn't have access to a camera he actually attempted scratching and painting the film stock itself. Norman made several propaganda films for the NFB (National Film Board) in
canada but the later founded the whole animation department.

Norman was first famous for his film "Neighbours".

This film was made in a style called pixilation. He did this by filming  moving people or objects by a few frames at a time. This then gave the actions in the frame a sort of frantic look.

Art Clokey

thur "Art" Clokey (October 12, 1921 – January 8, 2010) was an American pioneer in the popularization of stop motion clay animation, beginning in 1955 with a film experiment called Gumbasia, influenced by his professor, Slavko Vorkapich, at the University of Southern California.
